Whilst we can't meet together on Sunday's we have been sharing various things for children at home. Below is the first of four Shoots sessions (aimed at KS1 age children), based on the story of Jonah (with games, song, bible story, quiz and memory verse). Email us if you would like a copy of the activity pack sending home to you - office @ssp.church
The story of JONAH, part one, two and three
Children of all ages are welcome to any of our services.
The following groups take place in the church halls during our 9.15am service. (We do not currently run these groups at 11am.)
is our creche for 0-3s meets in the Barrett Hall. There are lots of toys and books to enjoy, and there's always a bible story suitable for their age. We'd love you to feel confident to leave your little one and join us for the rest of the service, but you'd also be very welcome to stay with your child.
You may also enjoy our Friday morning baby & toddler group.
is our group for key-stage one children. they meet in the Coronation room and enjoy a game, or craft activity linked to a bible story. They always seem to have lots of fun!
is our older group, for key-stage two and up. The format is similar with activities and a bible study suitable for their age.
Most Sundays the children leave after the second song, via the side door at the front of church, and go over to the church hall with the leaders. If it’s your first time, just follow the crowd, and one of the leaders will show you which is the right group. Or follow the signs, and look for the room labelled Seeds, Shoots or Roots.
On the first Sunday of the month, we usually stay all together for a shorter interactive service suitable for all ages. We don’t mind at all if it’s a bit noisy or your little one is a bit wriggly!
All our children's group leaders are DBS checked and either parents themselves or well-known members of the church family.
We take a register in the groups to make sure we have any relevant allergy and medical information. If you would like to see a copy of our Safe Guarding Policy, please do speak to Matt.
