Why is the library closed?
Wirral Council made the decision to close Prenton Dell library shortly after the Covid Pandemic. From September 2025, the lease for the former Prenton Dell library building, owned by Magenta Living, has been assigned to us.
The Prenton Dell Library building, 15-17 Dickens Avenue, has been permanently closed since the Covid pandemic.
Having closed a number of library facilities across the Borough, Wirral Council have transferred some for use by community groups under their Community Asset Transfer scheme*.
