Coronavirus (Covid-19) Updates

As the COVID-19 situation continues, we are regularly monitoring and reviewing aspects of our church life.

This page will be regularly updated with the latest information regarding how Coronavirus will affect church life and the actions we are taking in response to this.

Do join us in praying for our church family, the community of Prenton, and especially our care and support for the most vulnerable.

“Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy. Sustain and support the anxious, be with those who care for the sick, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may find comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Sunday Worship

If you feel unsure about coming in person, we intend to Livestream some services via our YouTube channel.

We are not limiting the numbers attending, but are continuing with various precautions such as hand-sanitizing, distanced seating, and face coverings during singing.

Please help us as we seek to keep the most vunerablre safe, and respect the difference of caution and freedom amongst one another.

See here for further details.

Daily Prayer

We are not currently holding our regular Morning Prayer in the Lady Chapel. Links to materials are available on the resources tab, to make prayer in the morning a regular habit and part of the rhythm of your day as we seek to trust the Lord at this time. We are also uploading some short devotional videos most evenings, which you may find helpful. Find them on our YouTube channel.

Home Groups

As meeting together in homes becomes too risky, or not possible for those isolating, we will trial options for meeting over conference call. Look out for further details.

Pastoral care and help

If you are able to offer practical support to others in the congregation, please contact Matt, or Jenny on the church office number or other members of the Ministry Team. This is certainly a time when we will need to step up our care for each other.

Parish support

Please think about the connections that you already have in your street/area and think how you can reach out to support neighbours who may be in need. If you would like help supporting your local community, please contact the church office. We will be looking for ways to connect with the isolated in our community.

Foodbank

Whilst we are unable to receive food items here at St Stephen's, the foodbank website can receive financial donations online.

Financial Hardship

If you find yourself in a position of financial hardship, particularly in regard to accessing basic daily needs, please contact Matt or the church office.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2

This is a time when together we must look to the Lord, the creator of heaven and earth, and plead with him for mercy and help as we love one another and our community.

He is strong and kind, and we hope in him alone.

A Prayer from +Keith Sinclair, and the Archdeacons

God our shepherd,
you led us and saved us in times of old;
do not forget your people in their troubles,
but raise up your power
to sustain the poor and helpless;
for the honour of Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen.
